7th May

We arrived at San Sebastian airport and our luggage hasn't arrived here either.  We started the baggage claim process and headed out to Irun which is actually where San Sebastian airport is and also the start of the Camino for us.

We got our 'Credencial' validated at the Alburge de perigrinos.  The Credencial is the pilgrims passport, a document that we need to get stamped each day as proof of our journey on foot.  That then entitles us to get our 'Compostela' in Santiago de Compostela.  The Compostela is our document of competion of the Camino.  I'll look forward to getting that at the pilgrims office in Santiago but first I'm going to enjoy the journey one day at a time.

We had time to have a look around Irun and get our bearings before heading off to San Sebastian  by train.  We'll return to Irun by train tomorrow and begin our Camino walking back to San Sebastian and then onwards the days after that eventually to Santiago de Compostela then onto Finisterre and Muxia.  Those places all seem a long way off at the moment but we're going to enjoy each day as they unfold and see what each day brings.
